When you use Sync, your project is seamlessly uploaded to the Picaboo servers so you can download and edit it on other computers.
Syncing is easy:
- Select “Yes” when prompted to sync.
- Install Picaboo on any other computer and sign in.
- Open, edit and save.
Note that Sync is designed for individual accounts and is not optimized for collaboration with multiple contributors. Make sure you’ve exited Picaboo on one computer before you begin working on your project from another.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Picaboo sync my project between multiple computers?
When you select a project to be synced, Picaboo uploads it to Picaboo servers so there is a copy you can download to wherever you’re working. (Don’t worry – your project is not publicly accessible – only you have access to your synced projects.) When you sign in from a different computer, you’ll see your synced projects in your Picaboo library. Double-click on a project to download the latest version and continue working.

How long will it take for my project to sync?
Upload time depends on the size of the project file you're syncing. A small project like a greeting card will usually sync in less than a minute; a large book will take longer. You can see upload progress at any time by viewing the status bar at the bottom of the Picaboo window.
If you need to exit Picaboo for any reason, don't worry - your upload will pick up where you left off the next time you open your project in Picaboo.
If I choose to sync my project, can I still work on it offline?
Yes. If you open a synced project offline, Picaboo will warn you that changes you save will be synced the next time you open your project online.
What if I have to exit Picaboo before my project has fully synced?
If you exit while your project is still syncing, your changes won’t be available from other computers, but you can come back and resume your upload anytime. Picaboo will pick up where you left off.
Can I use Sync to collaborate with multiple contributors?
Sync is not designed as a collaboration tool; it's designed to allow you to work on your project and/or view it from multiple computers (for example, on your desktop and laptop machines.) To avoid changes being overridden, it's important that your project only be open on one machine at a time.
