Friends

View book. Jane and I have been friends since elementary school. We are from a tiny Southern town where everybody knows everybody. We
stuck together through high school, college and on into our adult lives, even though we live many miles apart and our lives
could hardly be more different. In elementary school, we became fast friends in Girl Scouts and also through the experience
of a particular 5th grade teacher, who was quite possibly the meanest one to ever be armed with a degree for teaching children.
After surviving 5th grade, our friendship continued through high school, where we were the first two majorettes for our high school. We were roommates in college and enjoyed several adventures during the college years including some memorable Spring Break trips. After college, Jane chose to move to Atlanta and pursue a life and career in the city and the business world. I finished college with a teaching degree, married and moved back home to our small town. Jane and I have remained very close through 20 more years since then. Jane proceeded to travel the world, always on the go and perfectly suited to life in Atlanta. My husband and I were blessed with three children and have enjoyed raising them in the familiarity of our small town with our families close by. Jane is a super-fun godmother that has been there for all of my children from the time they were born into the present. She was also there for me when we lost our second child to an accident. I am so happy and fortunate that we have made pictures throughout the years. I gathered lots of pictures from all the way back to elementary school and put them together in a Picaboo book for Jane and myself to celebrate our birthdays this year. This book holds cherished memories and is a great way to honor our friendship. |
