Jeannette and Lyndel's Story
Shared by Jeannette |
View book. Lyndel and I had been dating for six months and were very much in love. We had each found our soul mate and knew marriage
was in our near future.
We had planned a trip to Mexico and finally the day came for us to leave. As we drove to the airport, we were both very excited to begin our nine days of heaven. However, I noticed immediately that Lyndel was going in the wrong direction, but he didn't say a word and neither did I. I really wasn't sure what he was doing. We ended up at our favorite park and he took me to the very place of our first kiss. And on that very spot, he pulled out a ring. I thought, "Wow, could anything be more perfect? He is proposing and now we are going away on a wonderful trip together!" Of course we both new the answer to the question, "Yes, yes, yes!!" We knew that we wanted a short engagement and between our jobs and our four kids, a honeymoon was probably not going to happen. So, we deemed this Mexico trip our "Pre-Wedding Honeymoon." It was absolutely the best vacation I'd ever had in my life. We toured the Mayan Ruins, snorkeled, had a night massage on the beach, went jet skiing, four-wheeled through the jungle, went SNUBA (yes, SNUBA) diving, and had a candlelight dinner on the beach. We even had time for some sun and relaxation. Although there was an unending list of interesting things to do in Mexico, I couldn't stop looking at my ring the entire trip and thinking about the exciting step we had taken. We had so much to look forward to when we returned! |
