Our son was only two and a half months old when I found out that I was expecting another baby. My husband was at work when I took the pregnancy test (or three tests, I should say. I wanted to be sure!). When he called to tell me that he was on his way home, I slipped one of the test strips into the pocket of our toddler's pants. After I greeted my man with a welcome home kiss, I asked him to change the baby's diaper. Like a good dad, he did, and when he found the strip - he was as shocked as I had been - and then as happy!

Having a little boy, already, we were thrilled to get the ultrasound results showing that a girl was on the way. We already knew what we wanted to name her; "Kendallyn" had been tucked away in the baby name book just waiting. I went crazy buying cute clothes and decorating her room.

Watching Kendallyn grow is amazing. And seeing my two children grow together is priceless. When Kendallyn was a baby, our son would climb into her crib, steal the socks from her tiny feet, and stare at her in amazement.

Even their mischief is adorable. The baby powder incident has become one of those stories that I can't stop telling my friends and family. I knew that something was up one morning because the two of them were so quiet. My mother always said: When they're quiet - it means trouble.

I could smell the powder in the hallway even though my daughter's bedroom door was shut. When I opened the door, the first thing I saw was Kendallyn, sitting on the floor, giggling and ghostly white with talc; and my son standing over her with the canister, shaking out still more. The whole room was covered; it was like it had snowed indoors. They were so cute that I couldn't get upset. I'm just glad that I had my camera ready to go. Life and childhood go by too fast. Take as many pictures as possible along the way!
