Brianna and Kody's Story
Shared by Brianna |
View book. I first met Kody while I was working in a local grocery store in SLC, Utah. He became on of my faithful customers, although
he never said anything! Each time he came to check out at my register we both had huge grins on our faces which made it hard
to speak. I was very interested in him, but thought it was probably a little creepy to ask out a customer so I held back hoping
that he would make the first gesture. After awhile, I started noticing that he would linger in the aisles in front of my line
until no one was around. But it always turned out that someone came behind him in line. When finally one day he was alone
in my line, he asked me out. Or, at least I think he asked me out. I was so happy when he started making conversation that
I have no idea if I waited for him to say the words before I started writing down my number.
Unfortunately it took him a long time to call. And of course I never saw him at the store while I was waiting. I later found out he was deciding whether or not to call because I was so young. As you can see, HE DID! After our first date I knew I would never date anyone else again. It just got better and better each time we got together. We always had so much fun! Before Kody I was pretty scared of doing anything adventurous, but he helped me widen my horizons and soon I was horseback riding, river rafting, snowmobiling, and much much more; things I would never have dreamed of doing before. We dated for about 6 months before deciding to get a place together. We found the perfect townhouse and moved right in. I enjoyed living with him so much I didn't even bother to think about what would be next. Plus he was being sly and whenever someone asked if we would get married with me around he would always say "Oh a couple years down the road." which was fine with me. It was almost Christmas when I stumbled upon a couple of wrapped boxes that looked like they might contain a necklace and earrings and I got excited that he got me something nice. Later that week Kody asked me to look up a number in his phone and as I was doing so I saw a number for a jewelry store... But I didn't connect the dots with anything but the necklace and earrings that I found. A few days before Christmas Eve, Kody mentioned that he wanted to make me a nice dinner. So when they day came I hung out around the house while he cooked up my favorite meal. He called up to me when it was ready and I walked into a lovely candlelit dinner set up for the two of us. It was so romantic that I almost started to cry when I saw everything that he had prepared. He jolted up stairs before he saw me crying and came right back down to kneel beside me. He began a wonderful speech saying everything he loved about me and how he couldn't live without me. Then the big question came, "Brianna, will you be my wife?" He popped out a gorgeous ring and of course I said yes! I was so excited and I couldn't wait to spend my life with him and plan our big day! |
