Getting Started

1. Begin by gathering photos of your ancestors and creating a digital copy of each one. If you have access to a scanner, you can scan each photo individually and save them as high resolution (300 dpi) .jpg images. Or, you can take the photos to your local photo finishing center and ask them to create a digital copy of the photos for you.
2. In addition to photos, gather other keepsakes such as birth certificates, letters, diplomas, maps, and marriage licenses to include in your album. Create digital copies of these documents as well.
3. Contact other relatives who may have done research into the genealogy of your family and ask them for information.
4. Organize your digital photos into specific folders to make it easy to locate your photos when you add them to your Picaboo book.
5. Create a Word document to record the notes that you would like to include with each picture.

Creating Your "Heritage Album"

1. Create a new book in Picaboo and add your heritage photos.
2. Group your photos according to year, family member, or event. Decide on the number of images you would like include on eacb page. Use this number to help you decide which page layout to use.
3. As you add your photos and text to each page, use classic corners, a font such as Amaze, and heritage backgrounds to finish the effect.
4. When you have completed your heritage album, use Picaboo's Share function to send a digital copy to everyone in your family.
