Help your child identify a variety of trees and leaves by creating a "Falling Leaves" book. Go on a walk around your neighborhood
or visit a park and take pictures of the different trees that you see. Try to take a picture that covers the entire tree,
as well as a picture that zooms in on the leaf that each tree produces.
You may also want to take pictures of the leaves in several stages such as green and growing, changing colors on the tree,
and fallen to the ground. This will help your child understand the process that leaves go through each fall.
When you get home, work together with your child to create their "Falling Leaves" book. Dedicate a two-page spread to each type
of tree you found on your walk. Include a picture of the entire tree as well as a picture of the leaf of that tree. Write
the name of the tree in bold letters and also include a brief description of the special qualities of that specific type of
tree.
Your child will love reading their very own "Falling Leaves" book and will enjoy learning to identify the different trees in
your neighborhood.
