Photo books have always made great gifts and when it comes to swim team gifts, they’re pretty popular. This fun swim team photo book was given as a gift to Coach Theresa and Coach Angel in appreciation of a great swimming season. This Classic Custom Photo Book created by Picaboo Pro, Heidi Kalpak details the events of the Reynolds Rapids swimming season. Below I’ve highlighted some of my favorite page layouts. If you’re looking for a great swim team gift or a way to document your child’s favorite sport, take a look at some of Heidi’s great ideas.
I love how Heidi features the Coaches and their achievements on the front cover. Coaches are so important to our kids as they become Parents on the Field and in the Pool. This photo book is a lovely tribute to them as individuals.
Many of the swimming photos include the their team colors, blue and green. These colors are represented in text, backgrounds and framed borders throughout the book. This is a nice cohesive design element that pulls the swim team photo book together.
I think it’s hilarious when I see pictures of swimmers with Sharpie tattoos on their backs. And I’m thrilled Heidi included this detail in her photo book. Also, I really love the grid structure as a way of including many members on the swim team. I also love that Heidi layered several Picaboo backgrounds. Layering backgrounds and embellishments adds dimension and texture to your layouts.

It takes a lot of work being a parent to an athlete. All the practices, meets and events that surround the swim meets are time-consuming. And you can see the devoted parents in many of Heidi’s pictures. I love the Heidi included them because they are part of the team.
Along with celebrating the meets, Heidi also photographed each child receiving their trophy at the final banquet. I love how Heidi used photo-shaped wells to switch up the hierarchy on the page layout.
And lastly, this is such a smart tip. Why not include all of the meets! This is a great reminder for all the parents, the coaches and of course, your children.
Here’s what Heidi had to say about the book: “I make a swim team team photo book each year as a gift from the team to our coaches. We have two coaches, Olympic Gold Medalist, Angel Martino Sims and Theresa Meyer, her mother, who has coached for over 30 years. I remember the first year we gave her a swim team gift, she said it was the nicest thing a parent could have done! I made sure to include pictures of each swim team member and the parents that participated in the events. I also added the results from the State Finals on the back page so Angel could remember the events. All the parents on the team got a copy. I also made a special book just for my kids.
Isn’t this a lovely photo book gift? Which layout was your favorite?
